Media Editor, Encyclopedia Virginia
This position entails a combination of tasks such as selecting appropriate intellectual material to enhance entry coverage and context; liaising and negotiating contracts with external constituencies to obtain permissions for intellectual media content not owned or created by VFH; converting and editing digital image, audio, and video files for preservation and online dissemination. To be competitive, applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in media, communications, or a related field; considerable experience in project management; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; considerable deadline and project management skills; experience with media research and editing; and content licensing. Applicant should preferably have considerable knowledge of digital video/audio production equipment (both hardware and software) and an excellent understanding of format standards.
