Is your business socially responsible? Come learn more about this transforming concept while networking over breakfast at the sixth annual Virginia Festival of the Book Business Breakfast! Patricia Aburdene will be guest speaker at the annual Business Breakfast on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at 7:30 a.m. at the Charlottesville Omni Hotel. Aburdene is author of Megatrends 2010: The Rise of Conscious Capitalism. She will discuss her new book, which explains why firms like Timberland, Wainwright Bank, 3M, Chiquita Brands, Motorola, Intel and others are taking a stand for corporate social responsibility. Attendees will be introduced to Aburdene’s list of seven new trends that will transform how individuals work, live, and invest.
Meet Aburdene, world-renowned architect of corporate transformation. She is coauthor of the Megatrends books including: number one bestselling Megatrends 2000, bestseller Re-inventing the Corporation, and Megatrends for Women. Her books have sold more than 14 million copies worldwide. Aburdene has spoken throughout the United States and Europe, and was awarded the Medal of Italy for her interpretation of global trends.
Witness Aburdene as she explains what many have felt but couldn’t prove: corporate responsibility actually is good business. Old-fashioned values, honest accounting, and stewardship for each other and the environment translate into healthy profits: “doing the right thing” pays off for everyone.
The sixth annual Business Breakfast is sponsored by Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Crown Porsche, and the Darden School of Business. This event is co-hosted by Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce and Virginia Foundation for the Humanities. The Virginia Festival of the Book is produced by the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, which is celebrating its 12th annual celebration of reading and literacy.
A limited number of seats and tables are available. Tables seating ten persons are available at $300, including additional marketing benefits. Individual seats are $25. This event has sold out in the past, so early reservations are recommended. A book signing will follow.
